NCU Inspection of Honeycomb Panel Composites

Ultran used non-contact ultrasound to inspect Nomex and aluminum honeycomb cores of various thicknesses and cell dimensions.

Ultran’s technology is capable of accurately inspecting very thick panels.  Non-contact ultrasound can detect core damage and delamination of the honeycomb core and skin.  Focused NCU is capable of very high resolution for detection of small defects.
