Inspection of Automotive EPDM Rubber

Ultran performed a correlation study for Cooper Standard to measure the level of cure for EPDM rubber.  Analyses included imaging a number of samples of EPDM at various cure levels and assessing correlation between NCU transmittance and level of cure.

The results demonstrated that, for analysis performed at 2 MHz ultrasonic frequency, a significant correlation existed between cure level and transmittance.

Analysis was conducted using a blind study methodology where each sample was unmarked to hide any cure level information.
