Ultran performed extensive application analysis for the tire industry to accurately profile the surface of tire treads

By using time of flight measurements (TOF), non-contact ultrasound can be used to determine the depth of the tread.  This information is used to improve manufacturing quality control and for maintenance purposes.

The use of non-contact ultrasound for tire inspection can be automated for manufacturing quality control using Ultran’s in-line production inspection systems.
